Dr. Colleen Davis, DPT
Owner, Founder, Leader of the GOATs
Dr. Colleen Davis is the owner and fearless leader of GOAT. She loves to work with neurologic and vestibular rehab patients. One of her favorite things is to hear how movement and exercise has changed people’s lives for the better. She lives in Gales Ferry with her husband Kevin (who is also our IT specialist and general handyman), their two kids Cassidy & Keagan, and GOAT’s mascot Winston. Her favorite thing to snack on is pickles. If Colleen wasn’t a physical therapist, she would be an FBI agent. Her pet peeves include Dolly Parton’s song 9 to 5 and Sandy.

What do you treat?
Our physical therapists each have over 15 years of experience in treating a variety of aches, pains, and movement disorders – including, but not limited to: back pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, plantar fasciitis, jaw pain/TMJ, headaches, pain with barbell lifts, front rack mobility, dizziness/vertigo, Parkinson’s disease, MS, stroke, head injury, spinal cord injury, and more! Do I need a doctor's order?
Nope! Connecticut is a direct access state. This means that you can seek out physical therapy services without a trip to your doctor's office. Physical Therapists are doctoral-level professionals who are able to diagnose and treat independently.
Do you offer personal training?
Yes, we offer both personal training and individualized workout plans. Whether you are coming back from an injury, still in PT, or just looking to improve your overall health and fintess, personal training is a great option to help you reach your goals. Schedule your free phone consult today to see which plan works best for you.
Do you take my insurance?
GOAT Physical Therapy and Wellness is out-of-network with all insurance companies. Our clients pay us directly each visit for their 1-on-1 personalized physical therapy sessions. This allows us to focus all of our attention on the patient and perform treatments to focus on patient goals without being dictated by insurance rules and regulations. You may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company depending on your out-of-network coverage. Our billing department is happy to submit all the necessary paperwork for out-of-network reimbursement at no extra charge. Why choose an out-of-network clnic?Insurance companies in the United States are continually cutting reimbursement rates for rehabilitation services and dictating how clinicians treat patients. With this decline in reimbursement, many clinics are forced to treat multiple patients in the hour (this means that therapists are seeing 4+ patients at the same time) and lower patient care standards in order to make ends meet. These clinics rotate patients in and use assistants and techs to complete treatments. Patients do not receive the individualized care they need and are encouraged to go through exercises with little to no supervision. With a cash-based practice, we are able to decide how to treat patients- we are not regulated by the insurance companies. We can provide the highest quality care for our patients while keeping them 1-on-1 with their doctors of physical therapy for the entire hour, every visit. This increase in quality results means that our patients get better faster than traditional insurance-based physical therapy. We typically see our patients only one time per week, saving you valuable time; meaning you aren’t leaving work early, commuting to and from the clinic, and spending an hour here 3 times per week.
Does "cash-based" mean I can only pay with cash?
We accept all major credit cards, checks, and HSA/FSA cards for payment. **Be sure to check your specific HSA/FSA benefits before using these forms of payment for any fitness services or memberships. If you have out-of-network benefits - ask about our courtesy billing services.
